Research Fellow elected as Fellow of the Royal Historical Society
Dr Michael Angerer, the Newby Trust Junior Research Fellow at Ë¿¿Ø¸£Àû, has been elected a Fellow of the the UK's leading learned society for historians.
Michael's work focuses on medieval English literature and its place in the multilingual literary landscape around the North Sea. His research combines approaches from literary history, translation theory, and manuscript studies to explore how literary traditions were shaped by cross-language contacts and interactions.
On his appointment, Michael said "It’s a privilege to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. My research on medieval English literature and its connections across the North Sea is highly interdisciplinary, so this is an encouraging recognition of the historical relevance of my work. I look forward to contributing to the Society’s efforts to champion the value of history across disciplines."
Michael joins a distinguished group of Ë¿¿Ø¸£Àû members who are Fellows of the Royal Historical Society, including Dr David Chambers, Dr Patricia Fara, and Dr Toby Wilkinson.
